Question 1: How to interpret age criteria for each category?<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Age criteria for each level is as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Level 1 : up to 8 Years (Born after 6\/30\/2013)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Level 2 : 9 to 12 Years (Born after 6\/30\/2009)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Level 3 : 13 to 17 Years (Born after 6\/30\/2004)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Level 4 : 8 and above (Born after 6\/30\/2004)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

So for a child born in November 2014 as an example, the child will only have completed 7 years as of July 1 2021, hence will be eligible for LEVEL 1. The determination factor is the completion age as of July 1 2018.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Question 2: If a student lived here in the <\/strong>USA from age 4 and if he is out of the USA for a year or two and comes back in-between, is the student still eligible to participate in levels 1 to 3, according to their age?<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

No, student must have lived continuously since age 4 to participate in levels 1 through 3. Level 4 has no such restriction. The intent is to keep level 1 through 3 for 20K+ kids in USA\/Canada, who, in spite of constant exposure to English, are still trying to practice Tamil.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Question 3: Regional and Zonal competitions are held on Online, but do they need registration fees?<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

No, Only from Quarter Final levels will be conducted in Atlanta, GA, which may require registration fees.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Question 4: What, in case parents don\u2019t find partners prior to registration, how can they reconnect with other participants?<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Valluvan Tamil Academy Fetna Tamil Bee 2021 committee will help in connecting the participants who have registered as single at the time of registration to help form the team prior to second screening. For the first screening, students are welcome to participate alone if partner not found.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Question 5: Can a team have just 1 person or more than 2?<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

No, each team must have only 2 students.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Question 6: Can there be more than 1 team per level?<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

No, each participating school can send only 1 team (2 students) per level.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Question 7: If you miss the screening date, are there any makeup dates?<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

No, due to the tight time crunch the will be no makeup dates for the screening. The screening dates will be emailed by the coordinators.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
