What is this fund raiser about?

People living in Tamil Nadu are going through a very tough time due to COVID second wave and is in desperate need of medical supplies, food, and other day-to-day needs. Many NGOs are working to provide as much assistance as then can to the people and they are in need of additional funds to achieve that. VTA is starting this fund-raising campaign to do our part for our people.

Why TNF?

Tamilnadu Foundation is a non-profit foundation created in 1974 by a group of Americans of Tamil origin who wanted to help people of Tamilnadu in India. They have filed presence in Tamilnadu and have been doing many humanitarian projects across Tamilnadu over decades. They have started the Help TN Breathe – Tamilnadu Foundation (tnfusa.org) to mobilize funds and resources for COVID relief by uniting many Tamil associations across the United States.

What kind of items will TNF donate?

Medical supplies – ventilator, 5L and 10L oxygen concentrators & CPAP machines, food, and other day-to-day needs.

How to make a contribution?

Will PayPal accept credit cards?

Yes, you can make your contribution using credit card through the PayPal portal.

Will I get a receipt for my contribution?

Yes, VTA will provide the receipt.

Is my contribution tax deductible?

Yes.

Has VTA conducted prior humanitarian fundraiser efforts?

Yes, Valluvan Tamil Academy has successfully conducted fundraisers in the past towards the great Chennai flood relief in 2015/2016 and Gaja cyclone relief efforts in 2018.

Can people outside of VTA contribute?

Yes, anyone can contribute. We encourage you to reach out to your friends to contribute to this cause.

Is there any suggested minimum for contribution?

Any amount will help towards this noble cause. Please contribute generously. VTA is suggesting a minimum contribution of $50.
